SKIPPER Rubilen Amit is confident Team Asia would lift the Queens Cup, although she sees a tough showdown against Team West starting on Thursday night at the Resorts World Manila.
With Amit in Team Asia are Siming Chen of China, Jennifer Chen of Chinese Taipei, and Eunji Park of South Korea.
The three-day tournament features matches in 10-ball singles, doubles, triples, and 4-on-4.
“First of all, one of my teammates is the world No. 1 in Chen. All I know is that they are all winners so I’m just happy about it,” said Amit.
Skippered by Ewa Laurance of Sweden, Team West also has Jennifer Barretta and Vivian Villareal of the United States, and Karen Corr of Northern Ireland.
“Of course, going into the tournament, you have to think that you have a chance of winning it. But again, we are competing against the best players in the world. All I can say is we want to win but it will be difficult,” said Amit.
The event starts with a 4-on-4 match at 6 p.m.
