EFREN `BATA' REYES stayed unbeaten in the group stage of the Predator World Tournament of 14.1 (straight pool) in New York City.
Reyes, seeing action for the first time in the tournament considered the world championship of straight pool, dominated Bob Treffeisen (100-3), Louis Pannullo (100-23) and Joey Kong (100-39), before defeating Corey Deuel (100-79) to remain undefeated in Group 6.
Reyes will go for the sweep of his group-stage matches when he faces Chris Riley next.
Meanwhile, defending champion Thorsten Hohmann, reigning world 9-ball champion Darren Appleton, Mika Immonen, Earl Strickland and Johnny Archer also remained perfect in their respective groups.
Hohmann defeated Zaid Thweib, Pam Cimarelli, Peter Burrows and Tom Gleich in Group 1, while Appleton outplayed Max Eberle, Brandon Shuff, Tom Walters and Jerry Tarantola in Group 8.
Immonen beat Jeff Crawford, Sean Morgan and Charles Eames in Group 5, even as Strickland romped past Charlie Williams, Danny Barouty, Bob Cozzolino and Jeff Mohl in Group 4.
Archer was victorious against Steve Lipsky, Bob Madenjian, Randy LaBonte and Michael Yednak in Group 7.
