MANILA will once again be the centerstage of billiards this October.
The World Nineball Tour in partnership with Puyat Sports announced the return of the third installment of the Reyes Cup and the second edition of the Philippines Open Pool Championship later this year, with the top cue artists from around the world expected to converge in the country once more.
"The Philippines is the home of pool — and these two events prove it every October," said Efren ‘Bata" Reyes.
"The talent we have here in Asia is incredible, but it is the fans who make Manila like nowhere else in the world. When that crowd gets behind you, it is something you never forget. I am so proud of what the Reyes Cup and the Philippines Open have become, and I know our fans will make October 2026 very special once again."
Reyes Cup, set from October 15 to 18, will once again see a battle between Team Asia and Team Rest of World.
Leading Team Asia once again is the legendary Francisco "Django" Bustamante who guided the squad bannered by AJ Manas, Aloysius Yapp, and local bets Carlo Biado and Johann Chua, to a dominant 11-3 victory in last year's staging.
Helping Team Rest of World this time is "The Kaiser" Ralf Souquet with the German great serving as captain.
Meanwhile, it's going to be another cutthroat tournament in the Philippines Open Pool Championship this October 20 to 24.
Spain's David Alcaide is the defending champion in this brutal 128-man single elimination tournament in what is expected to be another memorable staging at Gateway Mall 2.
"October in Manila has become the unmissable moment on the World Nineball Tour calendar and 2026 is going to be bigger than ever. A new captain and Team Asia arriving as back-to-back champions means the Reyes Cup has never had more riding on it." said Emily Frazer, CEO of Matchroom Multi Sport.
