Efren "Bata" Reyes emerges on top of the 60-player one pocket tournament.

EFREN “Bata” Reyes captured the Chuck Markulis Memorial One Pocket Division crown in Sacramento, California recently, defeating Francisco ‘Django’ Bustamante in the title match.

Reyes bagged the US$1,100 prize after winning the race-to-four affair to finish the tournament unbeaten.

Bustamante, who pocketed US $750, had to hurdle compatriot Santos Sambajon to move into the finals via the losers’ bracket.

Reyes and Bustamante were coming off a stint in the World Cup of Pool where they bowed out in the quarterfinal round.

Sambajon finished third place while Ronnie Alcano placed seventh in the event. They pocketed US$500 and US$175 respectively.

The event drew 60 participants.
