THE Philippine team led by Efren “Bata” Reyes and Francisco “Django” Bustamante dominated Estonia, 5-1, on Monday to remain undefeated and clinch a berth in the round-of-16 of the 2012 World Team Pool Championships in Beijing.

It was the second consecutive victory for the team that also includes Dennis Orcollo and Rubilen Amit, putting them on top of Group A. The Philippines defeated Indonesia, 4-2, in the opener.

Games were contested in the eight-ball men’s scotch doubles and men’s singles, nine-ball women’s and men’s singles and 10-ball mixed doubles and men’s singles to determine the winner.

Indonesia crushed Croatia, 6-0, in the other Group A match.

Two Chinese teams occupy the top spot in Group B and C following two victories in the group stages to also seal berths in the knockout stages.

World 9-ball championship runner-up Lee Heewen led China I to a 4-2 win over Malaysia, while China II blanked Singapore, 6-0, in Group C.

Japan, Great Britain and Chinese Taipei also advanced to the round-of-16, which begins on Wednesday.
