PH pair of Biado, De Luna settle for second place in World Cup of Pool

THE Philippines lost to Austria, 11-3, in the final of the 2019 World Cup of Pool on Sunday at the Morningside Arena in Leicester, United Kingdom.

The team of Carlo Biado and Jeff De Luna couldn't find their touch in the final against Albin Ouschan and Mario He, who won the $60,000 top prize.

Biado and De Luna settled for the $30,000 (roughly P1.53 million) runner-up prize.

Biado and De Luna booked a spot in the final by beating the Netherlands duo of Neils Feijen and Marc Bijsterbosch, 9-6, in the semifinal.

Austria defeated the Spain team of David Alcaide and Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, 9-3, in the final four.
