DENNIS Orcollo defeated Francisco "Django" Bustamante, 3-1, to cop the 16th Derby City Classic Bank Pool 9-ball title in Elizabeth, Indiana.
"Robocop" Orcollo defeated American Earl Strickland to arrange an all-Filipino match for the crown. Bustamante was last year’s champion of the event.
Orcollo also won a gold medal in the 2013 Southeast Asian Games in Myanmar where he defeated fellow Filipino Carlo Biado in the 9-ball event.
The former world champion was also cited by the Philippine Sportswriters Association after winning the World Cup of Pool crown this year along with Lee Vann Corteza.
