DENNIS Orcollo bowed to hometown bet Mateusz Sniegocki, 6-8, failing to advance to the finals of the 2012 World Pool Masters in Kielce, Poland.
Orcollo fell behind 0-4 before rallying to win five straight racks to take the lead but sputtered in the final racks of the semifinal match.
Sneigocki tied the match in the 10th rack then won two more to regain control and reach hill, 7-5. Orcollo kept himself in the match, winning the 13th rack but the Filipino committed an illegal break and gave the win to the Polish.
En route to the semifinals, the 2010 champion Orcollo dominated Mika Immonen, 8-3, and beat women’s No. 1 ranked player Kelly Fisher, 8-6.
Sneigocki was upended by fellow Polish Karol Skowerski, 8-6, in the final.
Skowerski won six straight racks to start off the contest and went on to bag the $20,000 prize.
