DENNIS ORCOLLO beat world No. 1 Kelly Fisher, 8-6, to move into the quarterfinals of the World Pool Masters in Kielce, Poland.
The fourth-ranked Orcollo, the 2010 champion of the event, had a relatively easy win scoring five straight racks and never relinquishing the lead after Fisher had a 1-0 advantage.
Orcollo, coming off a rousing win in the China Open 9-ball tournament, will next face either Ko Pin Yi of Chinese Taipei or Wojciech Szewczyk of Poland in the quarterfinal round of the invitational tournament, with the winner taking home $20,000.
Meanwhile, Filipino-Canadian Alex Pagulayan bowed out, losing to Mateusz Sniegocki, 8-6, in the quarterfinal round.
Pagulayan, the 2008 champion, fell victim to the giant killing ways of the Polish after Sniegocki beat defending champion Ralf Souquet in the first round.
