The Southeast Asian Games gold medalist said she did not expect to top the Taipei meet, but the victory has boosted her confidence ahead of the tournament in Shanghai, where she also saw action last year.

Centeno took on 2013 world champion Han Yu in the semifinals before facing former world No. 1 Fisher in the title match.

“Gusto ko maging world champion,” she said. Gabriel Pe
