TEAM West defeated the Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes and Francisco ‘Django’ Bustamante-led Team Asia, 67-66, after the Kings’ Cup on Sunday at the Resorts World Manila.
Mika Immonen, Albin Ouschan, and Darren Appleton beat Bustamante, Ko Pin Yi, and Ko Ping Chung, 5-3, in the 3-on-3, the final match to win the event.
The event involved singles, doubles, triples, and 4-on-4 matches in 10-ball with the team with the most number of accumulated wins taking the crown.
“The pressure of the Kings Cup was the same exact pressure I felt in the finals of the World Championship. It feels so good to have experienced this,” said Ouschan, Reyes was also part of Team Asia but only racked up a 3-6 record in matches involving him. Bustamante, on the other hand, only had a 1-5 record, leaving the two Kos from Chinese Taipei to carry the fight for Team Asia.
