WARREN KIAMCO captured the Johnny Archer Classic 10-ball crown after a one-sided 11-3 win over former World Ten-ball champion Shane Van Boening in the final in Marietta, Georgia.
Kiamco took his second consecutive crown and the US$4,625 top prize, a fitting follow-up to his conquest of the Houston Open last week.
Kiamco finished the tournament undefeated and reached the finals with a 9-6 win over Mike Davis. He earlier defeated Jeffrey Helie (9-6), James Gloriella (9-2), Mark Ritter (9-6), and Shawn Putnam (9-5).
Van Boening defeated Mike Davis, Shannon Daulton, and Jonathan Pinnegar to advance to the finals but rigors of playing all day apparently took its toll in the final as he lost convincingly to Kiamco.
Israel Rota, the other Filipino in the event, bowed out early.
