KENT Salado put up a solid performance as Arellano University ended its Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup campaign with a 73-68 decision over University of the Philippines on Monday in San Juan.
Salado had 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists to help the Chiefs roll to their fourth straight victory for a 4-4 card.
That was not enough to advance, however, as the Maroons and National University Bulldogs battle for the last quarterfinal berth in Group B with identical 4-3 records.
Lervin Flores had 16 points and nine rebounds, Kraniel Villoria and Archie Concepcion combined for 27 markers.
Arellano coach Jerry Codinera hopes his wards would play more consistently as they prepare for the NCAA which starts next month.
"We still have a lot of things to improve on. Dami kaming lapses e, indi lang nakikita sa laro kanina. Kailangan naming maging consistent," said Codinera.
Jarell Lim scored 16 points, while Ibrahim Quattara had a double-double outing of 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Maroons.
