PINOY cue artists have been wiped out in the quarterfinals of the Philippines Open Pool Championship on Friday at Gateway Mall in Cubao.

Reyes Cup MVP AJ Manas got blanked by Jayson Shaw, 11-3, as "Eagle Eye" earned a semifinal spot in this Matchroom major.

The Scottish stud recovered from an early 0-3 hole and was flawless as he took the next 11 racks to claim the win and silence the enthusiastic crowd.

"I just tried to stay positive. I'm playing good enough to do what he did to me at the start," said Shaw, all while putting Team Rest of the World's Reyes Cup defeat behind him. "It's in the past and it is what it is."

Nonetheless, he heaped great praises for Manas and said: "He's gonna be a world champion one day."

Bernie Regalario is also through to the quarterfinals.

Shaw heads to the semifinals as he braces for Arseni Sevastyanov of Finland, who eliminated Roland Garcia, 11-8, earlier in the day.

All hopes now hinge on Hong Kong-born Pinoy Robbie Capito as he becomes the honorary hometown favorite after all 85 local bets crashed out of this 128-man toruney that has a USD125,000 prize pool with USD30,000 awaiting the champion.
