DENNIS Orcollo and Carlo Biado made it to the round-of-32 of the 2016 World 9-Ball Championship in Doha, Qatar on Tuesday.
Orcollo defeated Thorsten Hohmann of Germany, 11-8, while Biado downed compatriot Ramil Gallego, 11-5, in the first session of the round-of-64 matches.
Jeffrey Ignacio, Jeff De Luna and Johan Chua, however, failed to advance deeper into the knockout round after bowing to their respective foes.
Ignacio lost to Albin Ouschan of Austria, 11-7, while De Luna was edged by Nikos Ekonomopoulos of Greece, 11-7, in the round-of-64. Chua was also beaten by Artem Koshovoj of Ukraine, 11-9.
Roberto Gomez, Lee Van Corteza, and Warren Kiamco were vying for spots in the round-of-32 of the tournament in the second session.
