DENNIS Orcollo claimed the 2014 Jay Swanson ‘Swanee’ Memorial 9-Ball Tournament with an 11-5 victory over Mika Immonen in the final held in Bellflower, California.
Orcollo ruled the double-elimination tournament that featured 192 players to retain the crown and take home the US$3,000 top prize.
With the field down to just two players, the former world champion actually lost to Immonen, 7-6, to drop to the losers’ bracket before coming away with the title in the rematch.
Orcollo bested seven opponents during the tournament that included two victories against Carlo Biado.
Biado finished third place in the tournament for a US$1,000 prize.
