CARLO Biado held off Vitaliy Patsura of Ukraine, 11-9, on Monday to advance to the Round of 32 of the 2018 World 9-Ball Championship in Doha, Qatar.
Biado kept his title-retention bid in the tournament which stakes a top prize of $40,000. He was joined in the next round by Roland Garcia and Johann Chua.
Garcia Waleed Majid of Qatar, 11-7, while Chua edged Phone Myint Kyaw of Myanmar, 11-2, in their Round of 64 assignments.
Jeffrey Ignacio, however, lost to Petri Makkonen of Finland, 11-9, while Jeff De Luna dropped an 11-9 decision to Lin Ta Li of Chinese Taipei, 11-9.
