WORLD champion Carlo Biado and world no. 1 Fedor Gorst renew their budding rivalry as they lead their respective teams in the second edition of the Reyes Cup from Oct. 16 to 19 at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Coming off their thrilling clash in this year’s World Pool Championship final, the two elite cue artists cross paths anew as Team Asia braces for the challenge of Team Rest of World in this event made in partnership of Puyat Sports.

Cignal, as the official broadcaster, will show the event live locally on Free to Air channel One Sports, One Sports+ on Cignal Ch. 91 SD and Ch. 261 HD, and all matches live on the Pilipinas Live app.

Biado is the frontrunner this year for Team Asia as he’s currently ranked as the world no. 3 after his stupendous World Pool Championship victory in Jeddah. That puts more pressure on him to take the starring role in defending the Reyes Cup on his home soil.

“I’m so proud to be back for the Reyes Cup, this time as a top-ranked qualifier. Winning the World Championship gave me so much confidence, and to now represent Team Asia again, in front of our home fans in Manila, is very special. Facing Fedor again will be exciting – I’m ready for another big battle,” he said.

Gorst, meanwhile, remains as the world’s best after reaching the finals of the last two Matchroom Majors: the World Pool Championship and the US Open. Now, he flies to the Philippines for the first time as the pacesetter in this rejigged opposition team.

“It feels incredible to qualify as World Number One and to make my Reyes Cup debut. This is such a huge event for our sport, and I can’t wait to lead Team Rest of the World into battle. We know Team Asia will be strong, but I believe we have what it takes to make history in Manila,” he said.
