World champ Carlo Biado beats compatriot Mazon for Indonesia 10-ball title

CARLO Biado beat compatriot Jundel Mazon, 13-11, over the weekend to rule the Jogja Open 10-Ball International Billiards Tournament in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Biado beat Ricky Yang of Indonsia, 11-5, in the semifinal while Mazon topped Hushley Jusayan of the Philippines, 11-9, to arrange an all-Filipino final in the 10-ball event.

The reigning world 9-ball champion won $12,000.

Biado is coming off a banner 2017 that saw him with the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Athlete of the Year award alongside boxer Jerwin Ancajas and bowler Krizziah Tabora.

He was also part of SPIN.ph’s Top 10 Sports Heroes of the Year after adding gold medals from the World Games and Southeast Asian Games to his world title.
