RUBILEN Amit and Cheska Centeno continued their unbeaten run on Tuesday in the Yalin Women’s World 10-Ball Championships at the Robinsons Galleria Mall in Quezon City.
Amit, the 2009 champion, defeated Bo Ra Jung of Korea, 6-2, and Keioko Yukawa of Japan, 6-1, in Group Seven play, while Centeno, the 13-year-old lass from Zamboanga, defeated Mirjana Grujicic of Venezuela, 6-0, and Noriko Onoda, 6-4, in Group One to stay on course for a spot in the knockout stages.
Iris Ranola, on the other hand, was blanked by Siming Chen, 0-6, to drop to 1-3 win-loss in Group Four.
Ranola’s only victory came at the expense of Charlene Chai, 6-4. She bowed to Kimuka Maki of Japan and L. Fulberg of Sweden.
Meanwhile, Jasmin Ouschan of Austria, the 2010 champion, clinched a berth in the knockout phase after defeating Ga Young Kim, 6-4.
Ouschan had earlier defeated Neena Praveen of India, 6-1, and Kyoke Sone of Japan, 6-3.
