FIL-Canadian Zach Nicholls and Fil-American Adam Gupilan led Arellano to an 82-74 win over Centro Escolar University in the 22nd Fr. Martin Cup Summer Basketball Tournament at the San Beda Gym.
Nicholls scored 23 points and Gupilan added 17 as the Chiefs scored their first win in two games in Group A.
Letran-A beat Jose Rizal University-A, 80-64, for its second win in Group B, but JRU-B got back at Letran-B, 69-62, in Group A play.
In the juniors division, Far Eastern University beat Pace, 88-33, for its second win while Manila Patriotic School got its first victory, beating San Beda-Alabang, 93-50.
Evan Agbong scored 19 points as Adamson beat La Salle Greenhills-B, 85-63, while Chiang Kai Shek College won over La Salle Greenhills-A, 85-66.
