NATIONAL University star Bobby Ray Parks honored the memory of his late father Bobby Parks by wearing jersey No. 22 of the seven-time PBA Best Import awardee at the start of the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup on Saturday.

Parks previously wore jersey No. 15 in his first two seasons with the Bulldogs, but showed up at The Arena in San Juan for NU’s game against San Beda already with the No. 22 in his uniform.

The elder Parks died on Black Saturday following a long bout with cancer.

From the looks of it, the younger Parks will be wearing the same jersey number as his father for the rest of the season as teammate Alfred Aroga now owns the old no 15 jersey of the two-time UAAP MVP.

But the prolific combo guard said he is still thinking whether he will continue donning the jersey no. of his legendary father.

The young Parks said he’s still hesitant to wear the number permanently owing to the legacy left in Philippine basketball by the former University of Memphis stalwart.
