KYLES LAO finished with 31 points as Xavier School beat Hope Christian High School, 80-74, to force Game Three in the Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball Association basketball finals at the Chiang Kai Shek gym in Manila.
The Philippine youth team member shot nine-of-16 from the field and made all his 13 free throws to help Xavier tie the series at one game apiece.
The deciding match is set on Thursday at the Chiang Kai Shek gym.
Arjan Cruz added 16 markers for Hope Christian, while Jobert Mercado had 15 points. Jolle Go, the top scorer in Game One, had 12 points but was a dismal two-of-13 from three-point range.
Hope Christian was ahead early, 53-46, but Xavier trimmed it to one point at the end of the third, 55-54.
After a deadlock at 63, Xavier pulled ahead and never relinquished the lead with Gian Go hitting two free throws and George Go scoring a twinner.
