    CEU starts bid for fourth straight WNCAA title with rout of San Beda Alabang

    CENTRO Escolar University started its bid for a fourth straight seniors title with an 89-30 rout of San Beda Alabang on Saturday in the 45th Women's National Collegiate Athletic Association at Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

    De La Salle Zobel, eyeing its fourth consecutive midgets title, whipped Poveda, 70-22.

    In juniors action at Ninoy Aquino Stadium, host La Salle College Antipolo came up with an 81-35 win against St. Paul College Pasig.

    Philippine Women's University dumped Assumption College, 81-6; Rizal Technological University dominated St. Scholastica's College, 79-39; and University of Asia & the Pacific bested Miriam College, 49-22.

    Also winning their opening weekend matches in the league being supported by Mikasa, Molten, OneA Bed and Breakfast, Goody, Monster Radio RX 93.1 and AksyonTV are Angelicum College against St. Scholastica, 91-16, and Miriam over St. Jude Catholic School, 77-18, in the juniors division; and the midgets squad of St. Stephen's High School against St. Paul, 30-9. 

    The futsal competition gets underway on Sunday at UA&P gym, with four-time senior champion RTU kicking off its campaign against CEU at 10:30 a.m.
