THE WNBL is looking to hold a developmental league when quarantine restrictions are eased and amateur competitions are allowed in the country.
NBL/WNBL executive vice president Rhose Montreal said the WNBL D-League will feature college teams during their preseason.
“WNBL will strengthen its presence by providing more platforms for women ballers in the country by introducing our very own developmental league where college teams can participate during the break from their collegiate tournaments,” Montreal said.
The WNBL is currently holding its first season as a professional league in San Fernando, Pampanga where it attracted five teams.
Meanwhile, the WNBL pro season resumes on Saturday with the Parañaque Lady Aces looking to stay unbeaten against Quezon Lady Spartans at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.
The Lady Aces lead the league with a 3-0 record following their 76-67 win over the Glutagence Glow Boosters.
The Lady Spartans are in fourth place with a 1-3 slate.
The top four teams at the end of the double-round elimination will advance to the semifinals.
Taguig (2-1) battles Glutagence (3-2) on Sunday.
