THE Women's National Basketball League is staging its first-ever Draft Combine this weekend at the Victoria Sports Tower in Quezon City.
A total of 148 aspirants from all over the country from as far as Ilocos Region, Baguio, and Isabela to Cagayan De Oro and Davao will have a chance to showcase their talents to team representatives.
Eighty centers and forwards are scheduled to attend on Saturday, while 68 guards will be in action on Sunday, according to NBL executive director Rhose Montreal.
The draft will take place this month, the exact date still to be determined.

The Draft Combine for the first women’s pro league in the Philippines was approved by the Games and Amusements Board medical and pro sports teams following the inspection of the venue and the review of the safety protocols to be implemented.
The aspirants in the combine supported by Victoria Sports and Chris Sports were also briefed in a series of online mettings with league officials.
The WNBL is looking to open its first season as a professional league in the first quarter of 2021. The league held its inaugural season as amateur status last year with the PSI Lady Air Defenders capturing the crown.
