UNIVERSITY of Cebu got 14 points and eight rebounds from African reinforcement Jermaine Noah as the Webmasters defeated the University of San-Jose Recoletos Jaguars, 94-57, in the Enervon-Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. Partner’s Cup on Sunday at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Webmasters were up by just three, 13-10 after the first canto but extended the lead to 38-23 by halftime.
The 6-foot-2 Noah also dished out four assists for the Webmasters, who improved their win-loss record to 2-1, winning two in a row after losing their opening assignment. University of San-Jose Recoletos remained winless in three games.
Noah is just one of seven African imports in the Cesafi basketball tournament. University of San Carlos has Ahmed Salihou, University of the Visayas has two in Steve Akomo and Mike Harry, while Southwestern University boasts of three in Justin Aboude, Fabrice Siewe and Landry Sanjo.
Cebu Institute of Technology defeated University of Southern Philippines Foundation, 91-82, for their second straight win. Allen Dimco led the Wildcats with 22 points.
University of the Visayas Green Lancers earlier extended its win streak to three with a 91-59 rout of University of San Carlos.
