The Warriors banked on the imposing presence of Cameroonian Mustapha Arafat in the second extra period to finally put away the Engineers at the Trinity University of Asia gym in Quezon City.
The 6-foot-8 Arafat’s driving layup in the last three minutes gave the Warriors a four-point cushion, 75-71.
They join the Jose Rizal University in the semifinals after the Heavy Bombers, led by Mar Balagtas with 12 points, waylaid the National University Bulldogs, 76-59, in the cagfest supported by Gerry’s Grill.
