Von Pessumal stars as Ateneo beats Perth in rare summer tournament appearance by Blue Eagles

    Apr 7, 2015

VON Pessumal hit five triples as Ateneo defeated Perth, 69-56, on Tuesday in the 1st Philippine-Australia Goodwill Basketball Invitational at the Philsports Arena.

Pessumal scored 18 points to lead the way for Ateneo in a rare summer tournament appearance by the Blue Eagles during the offseason.

Ateneo has declined to play in the Filoil preseason tournament, and the goodwill invitational tournament will be one of the few times the Blue Eagles will be seen playing before UAAP Season 78 opens in September.

Head coach Bo Perasol, however, said he wants to see more of the second stringers for this tournament.
