ZAMBOANGA Valientes goes for a sweep of the eliminations in the final leg of The Asian Tournament as it squares off against Vanta Black Dragons Thursday at the Zamboanga Coliseum.
The 8 p.m. match will be a clash between the two unbeaten teams and for the right to take the no. 1 seed heading into the semifinals.
Both the Valientes and Black Dragons carry similar 2-0 records.
The Valientes are coming off a 79-78 thriller against the Aces as NBA star DeMarcus Cousins and Malik Diouf sat out the game due to minor injuries.
Import Ricky Bryce and veteran Mike Tolomia carried the team to the close victory, scoring 26 and 13 points, respectively. Bryce also grabbed 21 rebounds.
The Black Dragons meanwhile relied on the 39-7-7 statsline of Will Douglas to turn back Leg 1 champion Macau Black Bears, 98-90.
The crossover semis is set on Friday, and the finals the following day.
