CESAFI champion University of the Visayas and runner-up Southwestern University forged a rematch of their recent finals encounter after beating their respective opponents in the Southern Island stepladder phase of the 2013 National Collegiate Championship Tuesday at the Cebu Coliseum.

UV came up with an explosive second half to beat Holy Trinity College of General Santos City, 100-80, while SWU leaned on clutch baskets by Monbert Arong and Daryl Goloran to hack out an 82-73 win over University of San Carlos.

Arong ended up with 18 markers, while Cesafi MVP Mark Jayven Tallo had 19.

Tallo scored 16 in the first half when the Cobras threatened to break the game wide open with a sizzling 25-4 run for a 46-30 halftime lead. Import Landry Sanjo had 16 points, while Fil-Canadian guard Adams Mohammed chipped in with 13.
