UST, FEU dispute last Final Four berth in PCCL

    Dec 2, 2013

UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas and Far Eastern University beat out separate opponents to earn the right to play for a Final Four spot in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL).

The Tigers defeated the Letran Knights, 77-60, while the Tamaraws whipped National University Bulldogs, 88-70, on Monday to advance in the Luzon-Metro Manila championship game set Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena.

Game time is at 4 p.m.

The winner will join UAAP and NCAA champions De La Salle and San Beda, and Southern Island titlist Southwestern University in the Final Four which starts next week.

UST and FEU will play in the championship despite losing key players who suited up in the last UAAP season.

Meanwhile, FEU continued to roll in its first tournament without UAAP Most Valuable Player Terrence Romeo and RR Garcia after beating San Sebastian in its first game.

Clark Bautista led the Tigers with 23 points while Kevin Ferrer, who will play with the men’s team in the Southeast Asian Games in Myanmar, finished with 13 points.

Karim Abdul had 11 points and 17 rebounds for UST.
