QUEZON City-University of the Philippines and Pampanga Foton will battle for the Filsports Basketball Association Unity Games title after disposing of separate rivals in Saturday’s semifinals at the Oreta Sports Complex in Malabon City.
Paul Desiderio had 21 points as the Fighting Maroons stunned second-ranked Metro Racal Auto Center Artemis, 64-53, in the knockout semifinals.
Levi Hernandez scored 24 points as the Tornadoes defeated Antipolo-Wangs Pilgrims, 99-83, in the other semifinal pairing to reach the championship game set next week.
The Tornadoes will be the heavy favorite for the championship after topping the elimination round with a 9-1 win-loss record.
Marte Gil had 14 points for the Artemis, who failed to reach the championship game after finishing second in the eliminations with a 6-4 win-loss slate.
