JOHN Paul Manansala carried PATTS College of Aeronautics over St. Francis of Assisi College, 78-68, recently to book a return trip to the finals of the 8th Universities and Colleges of Luzon Athletic Association (UCLAA) men’s basketball at the Marikina Sports Complex.
Manansala dropped 18 points to help the Sea Horses set up a best-of-three title series against Colegio de San Lorenzo, which already reached the finals with a 74-46 rout over National College of Business and the Arts. Game One is set on Friday at the Marikina Sports Complex.
With its second consecutive trip to the finals, PATTS look to avoid another letdown after losing to Philippine College of Criminology last year.
The Sea Horses pulled away in the second period after turning a slim 21-18 lead into a 42-29 advantage at halftime.
Arvee Capinding added 14 points for the Sea Horses, who were forced to a knockout match for the finals berth with a 67-50 loss to the Doves.
