EXCITEMENT is brewing in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UCBL) as it opens its new season with a new television partner.
The league featuring Centro Escolar University, Olivarez College, Technological Institute of the Philippines and Lyceum of the Philippines University of Batangas, and new members St. Joseph College of Bulacan, Philippine Christian University of Dasmarinas Cavite and Calayan Educational Foundation Inc. of Lucena, Quezon opens its third season on Sept. 6 at the Olivarez gym in Parañaque.
Games will be broadcast on AksyonTV on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 p.m. -10 p.m. and on Fridays from 5p.m. - 7.p.m.
“We want to provide an opportunity for these schools and its student athletes that’s why our games will now be shown on Aksyon TV,” said UCBL president Franklin Evidente.
“There are about 220 colleges and universities in the country, 140 of these are in Metro Manila and we are the third league that offers TV coverage to our participating teams,” added Evidente.
