NU Bullpups move closer to UAAP Jrs semis with rout of UP Junior Maroons

NATIONAL University stepped closer to the semifinals with a 91-60 win over University of the Philippines Integrated School, 91-60, on Saturday in the UAAP Season 80 juniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Bullpups never trailed and led by as many as 37 points to pick up their ninth win in 11 outings.

Winderlich Coyoca had 16 points, while Terrence Fortea scored nine of his 12 points in the first quarter for the Bullpups.

NU outscored the Junior Maroons, 27-12, in the third canto, snapping UPIS' two-game winning streak.

Rhayyan Amsali had 11 points and 11 rebounds for NU.

Matt Santiago had 19 points and seven rebounds for UPIS, which shares sixth spot with De La Salle-Zobel at 3-8.
