UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas coach Bong Dela Cruz refused to dwell on allegations that he said some "unnecessary words" to De La Salle forward Jason Perkins during their UAAP men’s basketball game over the weekend.

Perkins claimed Dela Cruz said something that clearly angered the La Salle player during the Archers' 83-70 win over UST. His teammate Jeron Teng and DLSU assistant coach Allan Caidic also reacted to the incident.

“Medyo personal ‘yung sinabi ni coach eh,” said Teng afterwards.

Perkins, however, declined to go into details, saying, “I just thought it was unnecessary. I won’t say something bad back. I won’t stoop to that level.”

Asked about the incident, Dela Cruz said he doesn't feel the need to respond since Perkins was vague on what he is accusing him of in the first place.

“Wala naman siyang (Perkins) sinabi kaya hindi ko na kailangang sumagot,” said Dela Cruz following the Tigers’ 72-62 loss to University of the East on Wednesday.
