UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas coach Boy Sablan said the Growling Tigers will be beefing up the team following the end of their dismal Filoil preseason campaign.

The Growling Tigers finished the Filoil tournament with a 1-7 record following their 39-point loss to Lyceum on Monday, but their under-fire coach said the team will see changes before the UAAP season.

“May mga dadating pang players and coaches,” said Sablan.

Sablan, however, didn’t reveal names, although sources have previously told that the UST coach will be joined in the coaching staff by former PBA players Gerry Esplana and Bobby Jose.

"Wala pa,” said Sablan when asked for confirmation if Esplana will indeed be part of his staff. “But may dadating pang mga coaches.”

Sablan also refused to comment on a report that Aric Del Rosario will make a comeback with UST as a consultant, stressing he hasn’t spoken to anyone from the former Tigers head coach’s camp.

"No comment ako dun, hindi kami nagkausap. No comment ako dun sa pinalabas nila, baka sila ( kinakausap (ng Del Rosario's camp). Pero ako, so far, hindi ko sila nakausap. So hindi ko alam kung ano yung istorya na 'yun,” said Sablan.
