UPIS Junior Maroons blow big lead but recover to beat DLSZ Junior Archers for second straight win

UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Integrated School picked up its second straight win, beating De La Salle-Zobel, 71-69, on Saturday in the UAAP Season 80 juniors basketball at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

John Allan Gregorio hit a triple that broke a 64-64 deadlock with 2:33 left in the fourth, and the Junior Maroons held on for their third win in 10 outings.

UPIS is coming off an upset win over University of Santo Tomas on Wednesday.

Gregorio finished with 17 points, making 3 of 8 three-point shots. Ralph and Rafael Labao chipped in 15 each for the Junior Maroons, who nearly squandered 14-point lead.

Rogil Carlos had 18 points, while RC Calimag had 17 for the Junior Archers, who are now tied with the Junior Maroons at 3-7.
