UP the frontrunner in race to recruit NCAA juniors MVP Will Gozum, say sources
Will Gozum averaged 13.2 points, 10 rebounds and 2.6 blocks on his way to winning NCAA Season 93 juniors MVP.

UNIVERSITY of the Philippines is interested in bringing back NCAA Season 93 juniors MVP Will Gozum to Diliman.

Sources said the Maroons are the frontrunners in recruiting Gozum after reaching out to the former national team youth player.

The 18-year-old Gozum led the Red Robins to the Season 93 finals, winning the MVP in the process, only to falter against the LSGH Greenies.

But before playing for the Red Robins, Gozum suited up for UP Integrated School where, through his stint with the Junior Maroons in the UAAP, he suited up for Batang Gilas.

The 6-foot-6 Gozum is one of the blue chip high school players entering college next year.

On his way to winning the MVP award in the NCAA, Gozum averaged 13.2 points, 10 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks as Mapua finished second in the elimination round with a 13-5 record.

Once he commits to UP, Gozum will be joining former high school teammates UAAP Season 80 seniors Rookie of the Year Juan Gomez de Liano and brother Javi Gomez de Liano, who played together for UPIS.
