UE Lady Warriors beat Adamson Lady Falcons to advance in UAAP women's basketball stepladder

UNIVERSITY of the East advanced to the next round of the UAAP Season 79 women’s basketball stepladder, beating Adamson, 48-45, on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Eunique Chan had a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Lady Warriors in the first round of the stepladder.

Ruthlaine Tacula also had 11 points as the Lady Warriors, who finished the regular season with a 10-4 card, set up a showdown with second-seed La Salle in the next phase of the stepladder on Wednesday, with the Lady Archers holding a twice-to-beat advantage.

Jonalyn Lacson and Jamie Alcoy added 10 points each, while Nathalia Prado grabbed 17 rebounds for the Lady Falcons, who beat University of Sto. Tomas in the playoff for the fourth spot.

La Salle finished in second spot in the eliminations with an 11-3 win-loss record.
