Luckless UPIS stays winless as UAAP board denies appeal for replay of default game vs. UST
"We accept it with a very heavy heart for the sake of unity," UPIS coach Allan Gregorio said about the UAAP board's decision denying the school's appeal for a replay of its default game against UST.

THE UAAP Board denied the appeal of University of the Philippines Integrated School for a replay of its game against University of Santo Tomas which the Junior Maroons lost by default.

UPIS coach Allan Gregorio confirmed the UAAP Board's decision on Wednesday.

"We will use this as motivation to push harder. We accept it with a very heavy heart for the sake of unity," Gregorio said.

The Junior Maroons lost via default last November 22 after the team failed to show up for its 9 a.m. game at the Blue Eagle gym.

UPIS claimed there was miscommunication between the school and tournament host Far Eastern University-Diliman, saying there was never a confirmation from latter that it received the revised schedule dated November 10 about the game being moved from 1 p.m. to 9 a.m.

With the decision, UPIS' loss to UST remain as the Junior Maroons remained winless in five games.
