BEN Mbala will formally receive the MVP award and head the members of the Mythical Five which will be announced on Wednesday during the UAAP individual awarding ceremonies ahead of Game Two of the La Salle-Ateneo finals.

Mbala will be joined in the Mythical Five by La Salle teammate Jeron Teng, Raymar Jose of Far Eastern University, Paul Desiderio of University of the Philippines, and Thirdy Ravena of Ateneo.

The Mythical Five awardees were based solely on statistical points garnered during the two-round eliminations and computed by the league's statistics provider Imperium Techology.

The league also picked the best-placed player in each position, which explains why Adamson center Papi Sarr, who finished second behind fellow center Mbala in the MVP race, failed to land a spot in the Mythical Five.

Aljun Melecio of La Salle will also be awarded with the Rookie of the Year honors.
