SCALPERS are again taking advantage amid the high demand for tickets that have gone scarce hours before the UAAP Cheerdance Competition at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Tickets released through the MOA Arena's ticketing office were sold out in just 30 minutes, forcing fans to turn to scalpers who surprisingly have a bulk of tickets in their hands.

One scalper admitted he got his tickets from allocations given to schools themselves.

"Wala na (tickets), ubos na kahapon pa," one scalper told "Hindi na kami nakakuha dito (sa MOA), ubos agad kaya doon na kami sa mga contact namin sa school nakakuha."

With tickets scarce and demand high, prices have naturally sky-rocketed. Regular patron tickets officially priced at P300 were being sold for as much as P3,000 while P75 general admission went for P600.

Hours before the event, a lot fans were still trying their luck hoping to buy tickets from the MOA Arena ticket booths.

"Nakapila pa sila eh sold out na ang tickets," said one security guard at the arena's Coral Way entrance.
