Olsen Racela wasn't too worried about Paul Desiderio's scoring: 'Pag meron kang Ron Dennison na 'di mo na poproblemahin'

FAR Eastern University’s Ron Dennison skipped watching the video of Paul Desiderio’s 30 point explosion against La Salle in order to avoid ‘added stress’ in having to think about the work that he’ll have to put in against his former teammate.

He managed to do what he had to against a red hot Fighting Maroons squad led by Desiderio, once again putting the clamps on his fellow Cebuano as the Tamaraws claimed their third straight win of the season.

Dennison, a graduating guard, helped limit Desiderio to just nine points on 4 for 12 shooting, well below his 21 point average heading into the match.

“But of course, it's not just Dennison against Desiderio, it's the whole FEU team against Desiderio.”

Perhaps the most impressive thing about Dennison’s performance in this match is he was just as good on the offensive end.

Dennison once again top scored for the Tamaraws with 16 points, with seven coming in the game-ending run after the Fighting Maroons cut a 24-point deficit to just 10.

Desiderio on the other hand wasn’t surprised with how his senior performed against him and quickly tipped his hat to the veteran guard.

He might have struggled in the face of a swarming Dennison defense, but he knows how to give credit to where credit is due.

“Magaling talaga. Yung effort andun pa, lalo na ngayon umiiskor pa,” Desiderio said after the match.

Dennison gave back those praises to Desiderio who has emerged as one the face of the Fighting Maroons’ continuous surge in this season.

Grabe tong batang to, laki ng inimprove mula High School.”
