FAR Eastern University forward Roger Pogoy figured in a scary moment in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup on Friday when he crashed into the goalpost in a game against Emilio Aguinaldo College.

Pogoy, one of the final cogs of the Tamaraws, tried to stop an EAC fastbreak in the first half but was coming in so fast he couldn't step on the brakes, hitting his head into the post under the basket at The Arena in San Juan.

Shaken up, the FEU veteran forward was immediately carried out in a stretcher and medics attended to him inside the dugout as he complained of dizzy spells.

“Nahihilo ako, nahihilo ako,” said Pogoy when asked what he was feeling.

Pogoy was eventually cleared by medics and returned to the bench, but he was no longer fielded back by FEU coach Nash Racela. He ended up playing just six minutes with two points and two rebounds.

The incident comes just weeks after a junior player of Jose Rizal University, CJ Servillon, died just days after collapsing in a tournament game. He was 17.

In Pogoy's absence, Ron Dennison led the Tamaraws' third-quarter onslaught while Monbert Arong put the finishing touches to a 69-64 win that sealed FEU's place in the quarterfinals.

“That happens you lose some players what’s important is you have players to step forward,” said Racela.
