DE La Salle wingman Ricci Rivero earned the UAAP Press Corps-Chooks To Go Player of the Week award of the UAAP Season 80 after helping head the Green Archers to back-to-back victories.

Rivero helped the defending champions steady the ship after ending the first round with a loss to archrival Ateneo, averaging 20 points, three assists, and 3.5 steals in the two victories.

The high-flying guard beat Mbala, Thirdy Ravena of Ateneo, and Mark Olayon of University of the East for the weekly honor given by the league's beat writers from broadsheets, tabloids, and online publications.

Rivero said he focused on defense and knew his offense will follow as long as he got in the right spots.

"At first, I always think of ways of helping the team and the coaches just told me to just stick to the game plan and they will find me on offense," said Rivero.

"I'll just do my job and they'll help me get my offense going."

The second-year guard made the most impact in the Green Archers' 75-73 victory over Far Eastern University, scoring 20 points on a 9-of-15 clip while Ben Mbala struggled on 5-of-16 shooting.
