RICCI Rivero said he'll be happy to reunite with Kobe Paras at University of the Philippines, but believes his friend's mind is set on turning pro, just as he has announced.

Just moments after Rivero announced his transfer from La Salle to the UP Maroons camp last week, not a few UP players and supporters started courting Paras on social media about a similar move.

But Rivero said Paras, to his knowledge, has already made up his mind to leave college basketball, for good, when he announced his departure from Cal State Northridge.

“Actually, binibiro naman namin lahat. Pero Kobe, I think, decided not to play in college ever since he was in the States like the video he released to turn pro,” said Rivero.

Still, the high-flying former Green Archers star, a teammate of Paras at La Salle Greenhills, said it would be nice to see Paras in a Maroons jersey like dad Benjie.

“Pero why not UP,” Rivero said smiling.

Regardless of what Paras' decision will be, Rivero said he will always back his friend.

“I think buo na ‘yung loob ni Kobe na mag-focus siya here at sa Gilas. I don’t know what his plans are. Siya naman ‘yun. Kami support lang kami sa decision niya.”
