PAPI Sarr scored 25 points and 15 rebounds as Adamson ended its two-game slide with a 79-71 win over University of the East on Saturday in the UAAP Season 79 basketball tournament at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Sarr dominated the paint as the Falcons scored their fifth win in 10 games, fourth behind Ateneo (5-4) in the team standings.

Jerrick Ahanmisi also bounced back from his recent struggles, finishing with 17 points and making 4 of 7 attempts from beyond the arc for Adamson.

It was Adamson’s first win in the second round as head coach Franz Pumaren believed the postponement of their match against Ateneo last Sunday helped them regain their form as they played in four of the last six playdates of the season.

“At least, we were able to arrest our skid. If you are going to look back at our schedule a couple of days, kami ata ang pinaka-killer ang schedule. It’s a good thing nga that the game against Ateneo last Sunday, I think it helped us,” said Pumaren.

The Red Warriors slid to 2-8 and are in danger of being the first team to be eliminated from the Final Four race.
