NATIONAL University officials remained tight-lipped on the status of Matthew Aquino, whose eligibility for Season 79 was put into question before the Bulldogs’ first match against University of the East.

NU coach Eric Altamirano declined to comment on Aquino’s status, which sources said was questioned by his former school Adamson just days before the Bulldogs started their campaign.

“I have no comment. Hindi ko alam. We will find out in the next few days,” Altamirano said.

Even Aquino was tight-lipped about the recent development. Aquino was in uniform for the match against UE but was not fielded by Altamirano.

“Wala po akong alam,” said Aquino.

Altamirano admitted the uncertainty surrounding Aquino's eligibility was also a reason why he wasn’t fielded in the game.

“Yes, partly,” said Altamirano.
